[With the number of their crew dwindling, Beat felt that he needed to step up. Being the Captain wasn't his style, nor would he ever take it away from Roxas, but he had to find some way to bring up morale. Or at the very least check up on everyone.
And so, at some point early in the morning, Kieran will hear a knock on his door.]
Yo, Two-Tone, you up? Heading to the Eltrut in a bit. Wanted to check if you needed anything from there.
[Outside with him, Kuma stands at his side. The pomeranian is about the size of a Great Dane at this point, still on the smaller side than the other cerberus, but sizable for its breed. A carrier bag is slung across his back with pouches on either side. He sits at attention, yipping at the door as they wait for it to open.]
[Kieran has never been good with social situations, and always felt a little awkward whenever engaging in such interactions. But even he could tell that morale had been really low since members of their crew had gone home. He wants to do something to help out more, but he's honestly not sure how to do it. Everyone else seems so capable, but without his Pokemon he doesn't really have many ways to contribute. So he's been trying to just do his best where he can, helping to rebuild certain areas or do regular maintenance of their island.]
[When Kieran's door opens, it's actually not Kieran who opens it, but Incineroar. The big cat rumbles at Beat before stepping aside, revealing Kieran who is currently brushing out Furret's fur. When he looks up at Beat, he offers a grin.]
Oh, hey Beat! I think I'm good, but if you need some help I could go with ya! Just finishin' up here.
[Beat greets Incineroar with a grin and a wave when he sees the Pokemon: "Yo, Fire Kitty, my man." Then gives Kieran a nod hello and smile back, leaning against the door frame.]
You sure? It's cool if you busy. Know that guy's got a lotta hair to go through.
[And he thought Kuma was a lot of fur to deal with. Seeing how much Kieran has to go through with Furret alone blows his mind.]
It's alright. I just got his tail left and then we're good to go.
[Incineroar rumbles happily at Beat, almost as if to say "hey bro!" back at him. Furret, meanwhile, fidgets a little as he tries to sniff at Beat despite Kieran hanging onto Furret's tail to brush out the last bits. Hello, hello!]
You mean Pokemon? [He chuckles a bit as he corrects Beat's pronunciation.] Oh yeah. Bein' a Pokemon trainer isn't just about battles, it's also about takin' care of your Pokemon and what they need. Every Pokemon needs different things. Like, Furret needs to get brushed more than Incineroar does, while I gotta polish Dragonite's scales once in a while to make sure they're healthy. Hydrapple's scales get a natural polish thanks to his big apple, but if he's sick then the syrup and Applin Juice he makes ends up tastin' sour. And Politoed needs fresh water to bathe in or else his skin dries out.
[Beat leans forward when Furret comes towards him, petting the Pokemon on the head, and scratching just behind its ears. Kuma gets a little jealous of this and nudges Beat's other hand, wanting some attention as well. Beat happily obliges his cerberus as they wait for Kieran to finish with Furret's grooming.]
Damn, yo. Dunno how ya able to keep track of all that. Most I've ever had to deal with was dogs when I used to walk a couple 'fore.
Ehehe... well, it's pretty standard stuff back home! And that's only the basic stuff. But I wanna make sure my Pokemon are taken care of. They're some'a my best buds, after all!
[He finishes brushing out the tail, giving it a nod as he leans back. He could probably do more, but that's good enough for now, and Furret will probably bug him for more later anyway.]
[Beat does another quick check with the rest of the crew for anything they might need before departing for Eltrut. On the ship, he fastens a few bags tied together to act as some sort of carrier for whatever they procure on their trip.
Their first stop on the leviathan is to get some food. The crew might be smaller, but they're still going to need to eat something, even if it's rudimentary for the meantime.]
Man, we really gotta figure out the cooking situation with the rest. Dunno how long y'all gonna be aight with curry and riceballs.
